Scientists tell us that all dogs have descended from Asian wolves. Those wolves were probably well adapted to a cold climate, especially during the ice age. However, since then, humans have bred dozens of different breeds. Some of these new dog breeds do not have a lot of fur like their ancestors did. They may actually be uncomfortable during cold weather, and you may need to dress them up in a sweater or dog snuggie so they will be comfortable when you go outside.
How Do You Know If Your Dog Is Cold?
Your pooch may actually start to shiver or shake. Of course, this is a clear sign that your pet is too cold. It is not always that obvious.
Many dogs are very eager to please. If they think that you are happy, they will not want to show you how uncomfortable they are. They are pack animals, and they want to be good sports and please the Alpha. In this case, you are the Alpha.
